Catherine M. Zrymiak, who attended law school at the University of Ottawa(1984) with James S. Weary, joined him in his St. Albert practice in March 2012. Prior to her law degree, she obtained her Bachelor of Public Administration (Honours) from Carleton University. While she has always been a lawyer with the Province of Alberta, she has also practiced federally, while she was a member of the Regular Force (Air Force) in the
Office of the Judge Advocate General as a military lawyer in the rank of Captain. That experience took her across Canada and Europe to conduct Courts Martial. Before St. Albert, she practiced in Red Deer, and with various law firms in Edmonton. Besides military law, she practiced as a labour lawyer, environmental lawyer, and had a corporate commercial practice, prior to family law.
Catherine has had considerable and frequent Court experience. Over the past decades, her practice has focused on family law, and has evolved to assisting families make financial and parenting plans. As an expert in the Collaborative Family Law approach, which is a confidential process, she helps craft resolutions from the simplest parenting plan to complex arrangements involving retirement planning, pensions, trusts, real estate holdings and corporate interests.
